Known as the “Orange State”, and “The Sunshine State”, Florida boasts of over 300 days each year of sunshine.

The State is bordered by Georgia and Alabama, with a coastline of 1,200 miles which looks out onto the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, and includes over 660 miles of beaches! There are also approximately 7,700 lakes in the State. 

The main activities of Florida include Agriculture and Tourism, and in addition to the miles of beaches, there are also more than 1,250 golf courses, with the well known Theme Parks in the Orlando area.

The population of Florida, in 2010, was 18,800,000, the fourth largest State population in the U.S.A. The main cities are Jacksonville in the North, Miami in the South, Naples and Tampa on the West coast, and Orlando in the middle of the state.

Air travel to Florida is served by British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Delta, American Airlines and Continental Airlines, from London, by Aeroflot and Transaero from Moscow, to some of the 12 International Airports in the State, including  Miami International, Orlando International Airport, Tampa International, Fort Lauderdale International, and Southwest Regional (Fort Myers).
